I’ve considered trying this. Where the story hypnotizes the reader. But I’m honestly not sure it’s possible.

I don’t think it would be possible at all, but it leaves the author open to claims that it worked and made someone do something they didn’t intend/want to. So, it’s probably a bad idea to write something like that, even if you don’t think it could possibly work, never mind if you think it could.
